The Actual Proposal

Published by cataly at 12:35 am under Engagement Edit This

I thought I would make mention of the actual proposal (and my attempts to unknowingly sabotage it!)

It all started with my boyfriend asking if I wanted to go out for dinner on Friday night - anywhere I wanted… I thought yeah that sounds good (due to working hours even though we live together there are still sometimes  we go days without seeing each other). So I started looking into places we could go and then thought that after this week at work I really didn’t want to go out… Not missing a beat he said “That’s ok, how about I cook dinner. I will make a nice roast”

“Great - well if we are going to have a roast why don’t we invite some people over…”

Now here I should havebeen suspicious - as he went on about wanting to spend a night with me without having everyone else over… Ok, ok thats fine.

So I get home from work dinner is ready, we sit down to eat… about 30 minutes after dinner he made an excuse about putting the clothes in the dryer, so he could leave the room. So I go off to the computer to check my emails (as I do)… anyway comes down sits on the couch, watches TV for a bit, then starts off with his pre-planned speech (which even though it was planned nerves got the better of him and he forgot the words - it was still lovely though) - at this point I was taken a bit by surprise and was trying really hard not to say something like “are you sure?” or “really?”…

After the initial shock of course I said “Yes” as here I am writing this blog.

About an hour after the event he exclaimed that after all that he had forgot to put the clothes in the dryer…

hahaha that’s adorable! My fiance used his proposal as an excuse to wake me up. Well not as an excuse, but I went from groggy and complaining about needing sleep to bug eyed in no time at all. And the day we got engaged is also the anniversary of the Berlin Wall coming down. IDK if that’s a good or bad thing. LOL.
